Keira Knightley has turned her back on blockbusters for more challenging work – and her newest role, as a code-breaker in The Imitation Game, fits the bill

W hether it’s a fireman or fairy princess, most children grow up dreaming of fanciful careers which are never achieved in their adult lives. Unless you’re Keira Knightley, that is. “I wanted to be an actor from the age of three,” she says, “so there has literally never been anything else, which I do think is rather boring.”
