When I was learning to play poker behind the bicycle shed, I was told that you shouldn’t split a decent pair in a hand you’ve been dealt. There’s always a chance you might improve on it. But for some curious reason and to its detriment, the second season of Stefanie Preissner’s creationCan’t Cope, Won’t Cope(RTÉ Two) split the pair of Mallow mates who had lent much of its dynamic. Aisling (Seána Kerslake) remained in Ireland, while Danielle (Nika McGuigan) took herself off to Canada.
