Bob Geldof saw Status Quo as the perfect band to kick off Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in 1985. “It was a marvellous opening,” he wrote in his memoir Is That It?. “Quo were like a cartoon encapsulation of everything rock and roll is supposed to be – ordinary blokes with long hair in denims playing a twelve-bar loud.”
