Sound and fury: Josh Ritter on 'darker days' in the US
Famously good-natured US songwriter Josh Ritter’s new album Fever Breaks looks at Trump’s America with brutal directness – and his uncharacteristic anger makes for a very powerful listen
Normally the most mild-mannered man in the music business, Josh Ritter is angry. On the phone from Portland, Oregon, he’s not upset about anything that’s happened to him personally, but about the “darker days” that his country, the US, is currently living through.
“I am pissed off,” he admits. “Like so many people, I’m shocked and I’m angry at the villainy that is being committed in all our names.”
