Being Pippa O’Connor is a lucrative business – and the woman herself is well aware that having the common touch holds the key, writes Elaine Prendeville

A long queue has formed in the lobby of the Inchydoney Hotel in west Cork. Here, a line of women, aged anything from 15 to 65 or so, are clutching their smartphones, and waiting patiently. They’re all here for their chance to have a selfie taken with Pippa O’Connor. That the only Pippa available today is a cardboard version is immaterial; a life-size cut-out will absolutely do.
