We’ve extolled the virtues of high-performance hatchbacks (referred to as hot hatches) many a time on these pages. Anyone that loves driving will understand the attraction of a relatively compact car packing a giant-slaying punch. On top of that, of course, most retain their inherent hatchback qualities of versatility and everyday usability. No wonder they’re big sellers across Europe.
