Profiling the used car imports

New figures tell us a lot about the effect that the importation of used British cars is currently having on the Irish car market

The motor industry in general in Ireland has, for many a year, been vociferous in its condemnation of the government’s lack of enthusiasm to curb the importation of used vehicles from Britain. While many car dealers have had to get involved in importing British imports for themselves to remain competitive, the increasing level of imports is being blamed for the sluggish new car sales figures in Ireland, and also for an increase in the number of “dirty diesels” on the road.
