Jim Sheridan can be difficult to keep up with. Sitting in a Dublin hotel lobby teeming with business suits, he flits between past and present as he speaks, musing on the tensions that still simmer beneath the surface of Irish life. Post-colonial hang-ups are regularly cited, while literary references are peppered through his answers. Pretty heavy stuff for a lunch time chat.
