The new Porsche has usurped its pricier sibling - and it is one of the most engaging sports saloons around, writes Shane O’Donoghue

Value for money aside, it’s generally accepted that the best version of a product is the one that comes with the highest price. Why else would you pay more? Following that logic, the best variant of the Porsche Panamera should be one of the top-ranking Turbo cars, which mix supercar performance with long-distance cruising ability and space for up to five when needs be. But Porsche isn’t one to follow convention, which explains its development of a ‘disruptor’ in the line-up, the new Panamera GTS.
