By creating a gender-neutral acting award, MTV has grabbed much-needed attention for itself and Emma Watson. For others, it just means one fewer opportunity
I’m not sure which bothered me more during the week: the announcement that MTV had created a gender- neutral acting award for their Movie and TV Awards, or the news that Emma Watson – queen of the wooden face and earnest, stolid demeanour, less Doris Day than Angela Merkel – had won the gong for her acting abilities.
