I’m not sure which bothered me more during the week: the announcement that MTV had created a gender- neutral acting award for their Movie and TV Awards, or the news that Emma Watson – queen of the wooden face and earnest, stolid demeanour, less Doris Day than Angela Merkel – had won the gong for her acting abilities.
