The best Christmas I ever had didn’t technically take place at Christmas. It arrived last March, when snow covered the country in a white blanket, and all but the most stalwart of businesses shut up shop, flipped the ‘Closed’ sign on their doors, and bounded home to huddle by the fire, drink steaming cups of tea and pretend it was Christmas all over again.
