A lot of people complain that music festivals make them feel old – and it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. I love music festivals. I always have. I attended my first one aged 15 and I’ve been a convert to their freewheeling, hippy-dippy ethos ever since. But beneath the happy-clappy sunflowers and sweetness vibe, plenty of festivals are as duplicitous as those beauty magazines which infer that they’re on your side in your quest for body positivity, but are secretly engaged in a conspiracy to make you feel old, fat and past your prime.
