With its vague and reductive looks-based message Amy Schumer’s latest film, I Feel Pretty, tears women down, all the while masquerading as a vehicle to build them up

We all have a million different versions of ourselves. We have the more beautiful versions, usually when we’re done up for a wedding or we’ve just come back from summer holidays, and we’re tanned and relaxed. And then we have the fairly hideous versions – when we look like death, snuffling, spotty and pale – when, naturally, karma decides we should bump into our ex on the street.
