New Audi A8 aiming to set a fresh benchmark
The German giant’s latest flagship is one of the most technologically advanced saloons on sale
In the past, we would measure a luxury saloon by how much leather and wood lined the sumptuous cabin. In 2017, technology is the new yardstick, and with its latest generation A8, Audi has won the bragging rights of being the first production saloon capable of Level 3 autonomous driving. But there’s much more to the latest A8 than that – after all, Audi won’t be able to activate this autonomous technology until after the necessary legislation has passed. Beyond that, the interplay between multiple driver assistance and safety systems, in-car technology and the level of craftsmanship that you would expect from a car that has a starting price just under €100,000 is wonderful.
