“Wood is the essential source of inspiration,” says basket maker Joe Hogan, who’s been making baskets at Loch na Fooey in Connemara, Co Galway, since 1978. “With the Ebb and Flow basket, I have tied three pieces of bog pine together. The shape of the basket then flows from the wood framework.”
