France’s famous Lillet apéritif - once favoured by, among others, James Bond - is enjoying a revival. Francesca Comyn travelled to Podensac in the beautiful south-west of the country to see where the wine-liqueur mix is made

The evening sun shines through the brisk spring air on the rooftop bar at the Mama Shelter hotel, drawing a young, relaxed after-work crowd. It is mid-week apéritif hour, Bordeaux style.
