Clay, Philippines: Clay is a live-in carer for an elderly Irish lady. Her wages supports six family members back home

Jayson was on the bus one day in 2014 when he got a call to say his father had died. “I will come home,” he said, “I need to see Dad.”

“Who will look after your family?” his mother asked him. “Your dad said, if you don’t have papers yet, don’t come home.”

He didn’t go home. He cries, recalling this. “I saw my father in the coffin – on Skype.”
