More than just a speed machine: McLaren invents the ‘hyper-GT’

Three seats, 403km/h top speed and 0-300km/h in 12.8 seconds – all for €3 million. Welcome to the rarefied world of the McLaren Speedtail.

In many ways, the breath-taking, all-new McLaren Speedtail ‘hyper-GT’ is a ridiculous car. With a 1,050hp petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain and a kerb weight of 1,430kg, it will be capable of (where legal) both 403km/h flat out and 0-300km/h in an eye-popping 12.8 seconds. It seats three people in an interior where the driver sits centrally, while it is made almost exclusively of carbon fibre.
