Honda refuses to jump on anti-diesel bandwagon
The new low-emissions Civic diesel will suit plenty of buyers, Honda claims: it’s purely a matter of taste and practicality
Nearly a year ago we first sampled the new tenth-generation Honda Civic at its international launch. Somewhat surprisingly, there were no diesel versions to test and Honda confirmed that the diesel would come much later. In early 2017, this was seen by some as commercial suicide for the Irish operation, given that over 70 per cent of new car sales the year before were powered by diesel.
