A cancer diagnosis in her early 20s made singer/songwriter Sorcha Richardson realise that life is short. Five years on, her ethereal sound has won her numerous admirers and she’s got an eagerly-anticipated debut album in the works, writes Nadine O’Regan

Sorcha Richardson doesn’t know where to call home right now. The Irish singer-songwriter is currently living in Dalkey, in her family house with her parents in south Dublin, but that was far from the plan. Richardson came back from Brooklyn last summer for a short break – and the intention was definitely not to be still in Ireland a year later. But then, she explains as she readies herself for another string of festival dates, she just hasn’t stopped being busy. And it’s no surprise.
