With her latest impressive performance in hotly tipped Irish horror movie The Hole in the Ground, Seána Kerslake’s star continues to rise – but she refuses to let it go to her head

As we shake hands over a table in a Dublin hotel room, I tell Seána Kerslake I had spent the previous evening looking her up on the internet and her already big brown eyes widen even more. “Really?” she says, with a note of concern. I tell her I couldn’t find much. “Good!” she exclaims, obviously relieved. “That’s the way it should be. Maintain an air of mystery. It’s great that people know you, and that they want to know you, but it’s also great that they don’t. I want to be known as whatever character I’m playing.”
