The start of a new college year can be a difficult transition. Struggling with a new identity, feeling lost and longing for the familiar.

And this is just for the mums and dads. Being suddenly faced with an empty home or ‘nest’ can unearth all sorts of emotional pitfalls for parents. Their identity as guardian, dishwasher and taxi driver is downgraded overnight, and replaced by tidy rooms and empty beds.
