€20,000 award for Dundalk’s music visionary

Dundalk promoter and music developer Eamonn Quinn says he is “deeply honoured” to have been awarded the €20,000 Belmont prize, one of the richest contemporary music awards of its kind.

Quinn, who has developed Louth Contemporary Music Society into one of the most admired outposts for alternative music in Europe, was praised for his “burning passion” and described as “a hero behind the scenes” by the German organisers of the biennial tribute.
