Dublin choir wins international accolade
New Dublin Voices (NDV) has celebrated its tenth year by winning the most prestigious international trophy at the Cork International Choral Festival. By doing so, it became the first Irish choir to win the trophy in 17 years, and only the third since
The Fleischmann International Trophy is the centrepiece of the annual festival and is regarded as one of the most exacting choral contests in Europe.
NDV, however, failed to hold on as Ireland Choir of the Year – an accolade it won last year – being pipped by the brilliant upcoming young Voci Nuove chamber choir from Cork, which was founded as recently as 2011.
