Irish rap sensation Kojaque’s wide-ranging vision, which incorporates performance and visual art as well as hip-hop, has landed him an RTÉ Choice Music Prize nomination

It takes a different kind of hip-hop artist to jump not just from a particular music style, but also from one art form to another. As Dubliner Kevin Smith, aka Kojaque, and I chat about the differences in live performance between hip-hop acts and your average pop band, the French conceptual artist Marcel Duchamp is mentioned for putting forward the idea that an artist’s work is not fully complete until the audience engages with it.
