One of the world’s strongest weekenders, the Bunratty International Chess Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary last week. Almost 360 players competed across four sections, and several former winners attended the Masters event in which nine GMs participated. GMs Sergey Tiviakov and Gawain Jones shared first place, with Tiviakov taking the winner’s trophy after an exciting blitz play-off.
