FIDE Women’s World Championship, 2017
The FIDE Women’s World Chess Championship took place in Tehran, Iran in February and March. The knockout format produced many upsets and the tournament was won by Zhongyi Tan, beating Anna Muzychuk in the finals on tiebreak. Tan managed to limit Muzychuk’s attacking possibilities, except in game 3 where a standard trick was successfully employed.
