Ian McEwan’s new novella may clock in at just 100 pages, but it packs quite a punch. A biting satire on Brexit, it is equal parts Swift and Kafka, as the veteran novelist uses his myriad gifts to parody the zeal with which our noisy neighbour’s political elite are gleefully guiding their country towards crashing out from the European Union.
