With no obvious direct rivals, the idiosyncratic BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo is a modern car that has a true USP
If you want the luxury of a BMW 7 Series, but you don’t like big saloons, and want the practicality of a 5 Series Touring but can’t stomach estates, this is the car for you. It’s called the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo (6 GT) and it replaces a very similar model called the 5 Series Gran Turismo, which was sold between 2009 and 2017. The idea in switching it from the 5 Series nomenclature to the 6 Series, says BMW, is to show the “major step forward” the car has taken in the evolution from its first generation to its second.
