Artistic Licence: Time to declutter
Last Wednesday night, I passed an enjoyable few hours at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin watching its excellent production of Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler.
Composed in 1890, one of the play’s key plot developments connects to the disappearance of a manuscript penned by Eilert, Hedda’s former paramour. Of course, with the play being set in the 19th century, the manuscript is the only copy of Eilert’s book in existence.
