The most romantic thing I’ve seen this year is a man in his 30s in a preposterous jumper lip-synching semi-seductively to Tina Turner’s Simply the Best. No, he wasn’t serenading me (although I would regard any man repeating the gesture as immediate marriage material), it was a scene in the Canadian comedy series Schitt’s Creek, my number one TV discovery of 2018 so far.
