A few short years ago, Geoff Travis of Rough Trade Records flew to Savannah, Georgia to watch Alabama Shakes. Travis loved them so much he signed them to his label on the spot. Alabama Shakes became another fine acquisition by a renowned taste-maker who discovered the Smiths, the Strokes and countless others, as their debut album sold half a million copies.
