The latest production at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre has teamed two of Ireland’s most spectacular singers, soprano Orla Boylan and mezzo Imelda Drumm, as love rivals Aida and Amneris respectively

About a month ago I declared that Irish National Opera had concluded a terrific first season with a full-blooded production of Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle. That was fake news, as I had forgotten the camel in the room – an upcoming full blast of Verdi’s mighty masterpiece, Aida.
