I was born about five years too late to remember the golden age – I use that term in the loosest possible sense – of the Leeson Street nightclub. By the time I had acquired a job and a small amount of disposable income, places like Joys and Suesey Street were either winding down or gone, and the city’s clubbers were moving on to pastures new.
