‘Damn you, economic recovery,” said the tweet. Seems all the money coming back into the country is playing havoc with the roads – traffic jams back on the M50 were the reason for the consternation of our tweeter. Increased buoyancy in the economy is not usually a bad thing, but evidently it’s not good for journey times. Whether that’s good or bad might depend on where you’re sitting, but it’s difficult to imagine a less comfortable place to enjoy the economic recovery than surrounded by fine wood veneers, sumptuous leather, ankle-deep wool carpets and chrome so lustrous and perfect it’ll show up your every blemish in reflection.
