Sidelines is what the Toronto pop-folk trio Wild Rivers decided to call their second album shortly before Covid-19 struck. This took on a whole new meaning when the pandemic halted recording, but Khalid Yassein, Andrew Oliver and Devan Glover stuck to their original plan. Now that Sidelines’ blend of crafted harmonies, introspective lyrics and sturdy melodies has appeared, it’s easy to see why some critics are calling the band Canada’s answer to Fleetwood Mac.
