Most homeowners in Ireland are likely frozen into immobile disbelief by the current cost of a full retrofit, but that hasn't stopped RTÉ’s favourite architect from taking another journey to gawk at incredible homes in other parts of the world. In Catalonia, he oohs and aahs in an apartment designed by Antoni Gaudi. In Scotland, he visits sustainability kit houses on the Isle of Skye and, in utter contrast, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald’s Hill House. EK
