With Home of the Year still bumping along on Tuesdays, we’re in for a double take of architect Hugh Wallace who embarks on a new series, meeting more people who take on dilapidated properties and do them up. Such projects are a handful and can be money pits. In this first episode, Wallace encounters Rob Hennessy, a tech professional who, having bought a bargain of a Victorian home in Passage West, Co Cork, on the banks of the Lee, sets out to renovate it on a limited budget. Over the course of the two years it takes to do it, he meets Katie, his partner, and finishes the house in time for their new baby Caoimhe. EK
