It has been a truly depressing few weeks, as the horror of the Russian invasion of Ukraine has played out on our TV screens and social media networks.

Those of us in the hospitality sector feel particular sorrow for our Eastern European colleagues, as their countries face a refugee crisis dwarfing anything we will face here, and worse still, the appalling prospect of their homelands being next in the firing line.
