In an interview on The Brendan O’Connor Show last Sunday on RTÉ Radio 1, the actor and writer Emmet Kirwan spoke candidly about the precarity of life for artists in Dublin at the present moment. “We never talk about money,” he said, referring to his creative colleagues, “because we want to have this veneer of success. To not be successful: it's a shameful thing.”
