I find myself dazzled by choice, and also curiously resistant to its return

There are worse fates to befall one in life than to be without dining chairs for an extended period, but on a Saturday afternoon, when you’ve spent hours trudging around furniture shops looking to buy the bloody things, it's hard to think of what exactly those fates might be. “I'm just so sick of thinking about chairs,” S said wearily, as we exited a furniture shop in Rathmines empty-handed.
