Graduating from Trinity College Dublin in 2008 at the beginning of a global recession and trying to forge a career as an actor can’t have been easy, but Shane O’Reilly dealt with it by picking up a pen.
In 2011, he wrote Follow, about his experience growing up as a child of deaf adults, which he performed in spoken English and Irish Sign Language. “That was the beginning of my writing career,” he says.
