Fashion designer Roland Mouret tells Ruth O‘Connor about the meaning of modern luxury, his long-term relationship with clothes and why he no longer cares what Anna Wintour thinks
What is your style signifier?
I have a tendency to love things that have a long memory. Today I’m wearing a really old Palestinian-style scarf from Camden Market. It was really cheap but the way it’s woven means I never get wet. I’ve had many luxurious cashmere scarves and they’ve never done the same job. I like to be practical and I like things that evoke memories.
