Edel Coffey: 61-year-old Jennifer Coolidge’s success shows we should never give up on our dreams

As we get older, we can all get a little bit fizzled by life, but the award-winning White Lotus actress’s speech gave hope that our long-held ambitions can still come to pass

I was thinking about the idea of new beginnings and second acts last week, prompted by Jennifer Coolidge’s speech at the Golden Globe Awards. The actress won an award for her role in the sensational television drama, The White Lotus. Coolidge has been the runaway star of the show for two series now, and she thanked its director and writer Mike White for giving her “hope, and a new beginning”.
