While the emphasis in the past week has been on financial and sport boycotts of the repugnant Putin regime, there has also been a less-noticed tsunami of embargoes on music and cultural events globally. They come from the Met, Covent Garden, Munich, Rotterdam and all the rest. Russian artists who have brought joy and beauty into the lives of many – not least here in Ireland – are now ensnared in a web of evil.
