Two major Irish music institutions have more than a passing interest in tonight’s Olivier Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London: the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Irish National Opera have been nominated for two major awards, as a result of their cooperation with the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden on a new production of the 1736 Vivaldi opera Bajazet.
