David Lagercrantz is best known as the author who continued the Millennium novel series after its originator Stieg Larsson died.

Dark Music is the first in his self-created series of Stockholm-based crime stories, featuring the intrepid duo of a young female detective and an idiosyncratic college professor-cum-crime-solver. In a previous life, Lagercrantz was a crime journalist and there is the odd welcome flash of authenticity that such experience brings.
