The rise of plush, leather-seated cocktail bars has certainly inspired us to expand our drinking repertoire. With all the gadgetry, smoke, tinctures and essences that surround them, it’s easy to forget the simple definition of a cocktail. Broadly speaking, it’s the concoction of a base wine or spirit(s) combined with other ingredients. So even a gin and tonic technically qualifies as one.
