Advice column: Since I turned 40 I’m rarely in the mood for sex, and my wife feels rejected
This week, GP and author Dr Mark Rowe advises a reader who is concerned about a sharp decline in libido and its effects on his relationship with his wife
Dear Expert,
I have a slightly embarrassing problem and hope you can help. I am a 40-year-old man, in a loving relationship with no kids. My wife and I have always had a very healthy sex life. We would normally have sex three to four times a week. Since about the time I turned 40, however, my libido has almost completely disappeared while my wife’s has gone in the other direction. She is in her late 30s. I love her and am very attracted to her, but I’m rarely “in the mood”.
