It would be “premature” to legalise cannabis-based products with trace levels of a psychoactive compound, the state has said in court documents.
The claim appeared in a legal challenge to the no-tolerance policy in Irish law for products containing any amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main psychoactive compound in cannabis. The case relates to vials of hemp oil which were seized by the Revenue Commissioners in October 2020.
